There are even some preliminary discussions regarding a petting zoo, courtesy of animals living happily on Ms. Laskas' Sweetwater Farm in Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania (Washington County). Spring 2007 Education Event Wrap-up...
On April 22, 2007, Diana Schwab, M.Ed., LCSW presented Parenting to Promote Attachment in the Adopted Child: Lifelong Strategies & Issues. This was a very enlightening, lively, and personal exchange of concepts, theory, practice and reality among Diana and all attendees about many adoption issues involving all aspects of adopting and raising adopted Chinese children. Those lucky enough to attend this educational event were treated to Diana's vast knowledge and experiential base in working with the unique aspects of adoptive children and their families. Even though the meeting lasted only 2 hours, the time flew by and all in attendance agreed we could have stayed for at least 2 more hours to listen and learn while laughing and sharing with Diana. Based upon the success of this meeting with Diana, TRFCC may invite her back so that more members may take advantage of this opportunity.
